Dr. Jennifer MacGregor

Dr. Jennifer MacGregor is a Board Certified dermatologist with fellowship training in cutaneous laser and dermatologic surgery. She is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Georgetown University Hospital, where she is the Director of the Laser, Surgical, and Cosmetic Dermatology Center.

Dr. MacGregor graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine at the top of her class as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. She completed her dermatology residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, followed by a prestigious 1-year laser, cosmetic, and dermatologic surgery fellowship in Boston.

Dr. MacGregor has lectured nationwide and has authored over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters. Amongst others, her work has been published in Dermatologic Surgery the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, and several textbooks. The topics of her textbook chapters have included the effects of topical retinoids on the skin, the treatment of cellulite, body contouring, Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer, and the prevention and treatment of scars. She serves as a journal reviewer for Dermatologic Surgery and continues to participate as a research investigator on studies that involve the evaluation and development of cutting-edge products and devices.

As a teacher of medical students and residents, Dr. MacGregor helps to train future dermatologists with dedication to ethical care, solid clinical knowledge, and consideration for total skin health. Her philosophy regarding cosmetic procedures is that her patients should look natural and healthy, but never as if they have had ‘work done’. Dr MacGregor has expertise in all aspects of general dermatologic surgery, laser procedures (including laser resurfacing, treatment of vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, tattoos and scars), injection of botulinum toxin, soft tissue fillers, chemical peels, sclerotherapy for leg veins, and novel treatments for skin tightening, body contouring, and cellulite. Her professional affiliations include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
