NeoGraft™ Hair Transplant System

Washington, D.C.

Always on the cutting edge of technology, the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery now offers the innovative NeoGraft hair transplant system. Traditional hair transplants require surgery and significant recovery time, but the NeoGraft system offers a way to help doctors restore hair to balding areas in both men and women more efficiently and less invasively.

To find out more about what’s causing your hair loss and if NeoGraft hair transplantation is right for you, please schedule a  consultation today.

What is the NeoGraft hair transplant system?

Before NeoGraft, traditional hair transplantation required removing a large “donor site” from the back of the patient’s scalp or spending hours harvesting individual hair follicles manually. The NeoGraft system uses the most advanced instruments available to successfully extract hair follicles without the drawbacks of traditional hair restoration procedures. NeoGraft eliminates the need for the surgical removal of a strip of skin and hair from the back of the head and instead extracts individual hair follicles to reduce recovery time and the risk of complications while increasing success rate. By automating the follicle extraction process, the NeoGraft system also decreases procedure time and costs.

Advantages of the NeoGraft hair transplant system

Benefits of the NeoGraft system as compared to traditional hair transplants

  • Local anesthesia only
  • No scalpel, no stitches
  • Less bleeding
  • Fewer complications
  • No scarring
  • Less activity restrictions and recovery time after the procedure
  • Faster treatment time
  • Reduced need for multiple procedures

How NeoGraft works

The NeoGraft system uses a computer-guided handpiece to make tiny (less than one millimeter), circular “punch” excisions around clusters of up to four hairs from the back of the head. This area is used as a donor site because the hairs found in the back of the head are genetically programmed to not fall out, and they retain this quality when they are transplanted. After the punches are made, controlled pneumatic pressure (suction) is used to remove individual hair follicles from the scalp. By reducing the actual handling of the follicles during harvesting, the success rate for the transplanted hairs is increased. After the follicles are removed with the NeoGraft system, your WIDLS doctor places them in small slits in bald or balding areas to recreate a full and natural hairline.
