IPL

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a non-ablative photorejuvenation treatment that can be used to improve the appearance of skin that has been affected by sun damage and aging, resulting in blotchy skin and fine lines.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

IPL works by pulsing the skin with intense light, similar to a laser, but with lower intensity and with a wider range of wavelengths. The pulsed light energy is absorbed by targets in the skin, such as freckles and sun spots.

When will I see results?

It will take 1 month to attain the full effect from one IPL treatment. A series of treatments is recommended for optimal results.

Is there a recovery period?

Treated areas may appear pink or red for 2-3 days, and treated spots may darken and flake off in the 3-5 days after treatment.

Who performs the treatment?

Dr. Tina Alster and Dr. Neelam Khan (Board-Certified Dermatologists).
