Virtual Consultations

Dr. Khan and the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery are excited to offer virtual consultations for patients in the District of Columbia. The consultations are designed to discuss medical or cosmetic dermatology concerns and outline plans for future in-office treatments. Consultations are conducted over an easy-to-use, secure video platform.

What to Expect During Your Virtual Consultation

Step 1

Scheduling your Virtual Consultation

To schedule a virtual consultation, please call our office at 202-628-8855 or submit a virtual appointment inquiry directly from our website here. Please indicate your preference for a virtual appointment with Dr. Khan and state your primary concern when scheduling so we may book your appointment appropriately. Your credit card information will be acquired during the scheduling process, and you will be charged a consultation fee of $250 at the time of booking- $100 of which can be applied towards a future in-office treatment.

Step 2

Preparing for your Virtual Consultation

Electronic paperwork will be sent to you via text before your virtual appointment. It is important that you complete this paperwork at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled consultation. The paperwork includes medical and cosmetic treatment history, consent forms, and a COVID questionnaire. Please be ready to share your skincare regimen and any product names during your virtual appointment. Please have your pharmacy information available in case prescriptions are necessary. Additional information, such as clinical photographs, may be requested prior to your appointment.

Step 3

During your Virtual Consultation

At your appointment time, you will receive a link via text or email directing you to a video platform compatible with any phone, tablet, or computer. Please make sure you are seated in a private location with good lighting and a stable internet connection throughout the appointment. A staff assistant will also be present during the appointment which is anticipated to take approximately 15 minutes. During your appointment, Dr. Khan will discuss your concerns, review your skincare, and recommend any in-office treatments.  At the conclusion of your appointment, our staff will schedule a follow-up consultation, either virtually or in-person.
