Nina Hartman, MD, FAAD

Board-Certified Dermatologist

Dr. Hartman is a board-certified dermatologist who has specialized training and interest in cosmetic dermatology. She received her Bachelor of Science from Johns Hopkins University, where she graduated Cum Laude before attending the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she graduated in the top 10 percent of her class. While in medical school, she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society for which she served as Vice President. Dr. Hartman went on to complete her internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at the Cleveland Clinic, where she served as chief resident during her final year of training. After residency, she completed an ASDS-accredited cosmetic dermatologic surgery fellowship at Cosmetic Laser Dermatology in La Jolla, CA. During her medical training at the esteemed Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Hartman established a great respect for and strong foundation in medical dermatology. During her fellowship, Dr. Hartman trained in advanced injection techniques using dermal fillers and neuromodulators to re-shape and re-volumize the face. She has comprehensive experience in laser, light, and energy-based devices to rejuvenate and tighten the skin including photodynamic therapy, intense pulse light, ultrasound and radiofrequency technologies, nonablative fractional lasers, and fully ablative laser resurfacing.

Dr. Hartman also has formal training in non- and minimally-invasive body contouring and cellulite reduction, such as tumescent liposuction, as well as, treatment of unwanted veins using sclerotherapy, endovenous laser ablation, and ambulatory phlebectomy. Research has been a mainstay of Dr. Hartman’s training and career. She has served as an investigator for over 40 clinical trials with large pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies investigating dermal fillers, neuromodulators, lasers, and cosmeceuticals. Many of these trials were instrumental to eventual FDA approval or clearance. Dr. Hartman has also co-authored numerous medical articles and book chapters, and she has presented her research at medical conferences across the country. Dr. Hartman is a well-rounded dermatologist and approaches every patient in a holistic manner with their health and happiness as the ultimate priority. She has a compassionate nature and works with each patient to provide a natural aesthetic outcome using her artistic eye and gentle touch. She enjoys developing long-lasting relationships with her patients and truly loves helping them gain confidence through their self-image. Dr. Hartman and her husband, Michael, have known each other since high school and got married in 2021 in their hometown of Washington, DC. They welcomed their first child, Jonah, in February of 2023.
