Fraxel Laser

Fraxel is a laser treatment that can improve the appearance of photodamaged skin (wrinkles and/or discoloration), as well as scarred skin by evening out skin texture and tone. The three different types of Fraxel lasers we offer are Clear & Brilliant, Dual, and Re:pair.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

The Fraxel laser achieves its effects by a process called fractional resurfacing.  Instead of treating the entire skin surface, it treats just a fractional percentage of the skin's surface, thereby allowing the natural ability of the skin to heal itself very quickly after treatment. Fractional resurfacing promotes collagen production, which leads to the desired clinical effects.

When will I see results?

It will take as long as 1 month to attain the full effect from a Fraxel laser treatment. The type of Fraxel laser used determines the frequency and number of treatments recommended.

Is there a recovery period?

Treated areas typically appear pink or red for 1-5 days, and swollen for 1-3 days. The type of Fraxel laser used determines the expected length of recovery.

Who performs the treatment?

Dr. Tina Alster and Dr. Neelam Khan (Board-Certified Dermatologists) perform Fraxel Dual, Fraxel Re:pair, and Fraxel Clear & Brilliant.
