Enlarged or Clogged Pores

As our skin ages, the production of the skin’s primary building block (collagen) slows down which causes the skin to look and feel thin, sometimes leading to the appearance of enlarged pores. Additionally, pores can become clogged with fluctuations in the skin’s oil production. The outer layer of skin, less than a thousandth of an inch thick, consists of dead skin that has lost the luster of living tissue and has suffered damage from the sun and other exposure. It also contains contaminants, pollutants, and dirt that clog pores and damage skin.
